Just back from the 23rd conference of the International Association of Volunteer Effort, inveterate volunteer and AJLI Executive Director Susan Danish added her voice to the organization’s petition of the United Nations which calls for volunteers around the world be included in the drafting of the U.N.’s global development agenda for 2015 and beyond. In addition, the petition requests that the collective efforts of volunteers be incorporated into the U.N.’s sustainable development goals for 2015 to 2030, which would recognize the integral role these organizations play in bringing about social, economic and environmental change.
