Join Rachel Zanfardino, Manager, League Programs, and Emma Briggs, Assistant Director, League Inclusion for a discussion on women in sports, with particular focus on the Summer Olympics and Paralympics, and intersectionality. Intersectionality posits that overlapping identities such as race, disability, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc. can compound and collectively affect a person’s life experience, as opposed to being affected by each intersection of identity separately. As an organization of women who represent many intersections of identity, it is important for our collective ongoing learning to discuss intersectionality, gender equality and where the two intersect.
